Cleaning and Greening

Altrincham BID is funding a rolling programme of specialist deep cleaning throughout the town. The specialist contractors use hot pressure washing and surface cleaning to remove chewing gum, food & drink stains, organic growth and general dirt from the paved areas.

Martin Duff, Deputy Chair of Altrincham’s BID Board, explains, “The businesses we represent in the BID area tell us that street cleanliness is of upmost importance to them and particularly after a long hot summer it was clear that parts town were crying out for a specialist intensive clean. This is not a one-off project and eventually will be rolled out across the town”.

Altrincham BID funds 20 rail planters outside Altrincham Interchange to offer a vibrant welcome to the town. Around the town, Altrincham BID supports the watering and maintaining of hanging baskets and other Altrincham In Bloom projects to help keep the town looking gorgeous. Altrincham BID also has its own community planter on George Street.

Altrincham BID supports the voluntary group 'Our Altrincham' and the BID team attend their voluntary litter picks - more information can be found here.

Altrincham BID is working with 4 local schools to support them through the Keep Britain Tidy 'Eco-Schools' program, as part of the BID's ongoing commitment to keep the town centre clean and tidy.
