Altrincham FC Beer Festival is back better than ever
As Altrincham FC close in on the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League title, ale enthusiasts will descend on The J Davidson Stadium next Friday 27th April to sample the widest range of beers yet.
24 barrels of the finest local ales will roll into the ground on Friday to kick off the start of the club’s annual weekend-long beer festival.
Celebrating the record number of local brewers involved with this year's event, Chairman Grahame Rowley said:
"It has really taken off since we first came up with the idea of an annual festival seven years ago, and it’s bigger than ever this year."
Encompassing the final game of the season which could see Altrincham FC winning the league, the club hopes the Beer Festival will be a celebration of the team's success. There will be live bands on Friday and Saturday night and a free family fun day on Sunday, with plenty of activities and entertainment.
For those who aren't a fan of ale, there will be a selection of ciders and the Community Sports Hall bar will be open serving their usual range of drinks. The club will really will cater for everyone, with pizzas and curries provided by an outside caterer.
Rowley also commented:
"It has proved over the years a great way of involving people in the local community and providing a sociable and enjoyable experience. I hope as many as possible will visit us and help make it the best we've had so far. There's always a friendly, convivial atmosphere, and, of course, it's a great excuse for simply coming along to the game and having a few real ales."
