Open Studios Welcome Five Chinese Master Artists

13 Aug 2019

This week Altirncham Open Studios are thrilled to welcome five Chinese master artists who are touring the UK.

They are being filmed by Qingdao TV station. This has been organised to develop and establish cultural links between the UK and China. All the artists practice traditional Chinese crafts which have a long history, wide variety and exquisite skills. Their art is an expression and carrier of feelings and meaning.

These artists are keen to meet and establish links with artists in Altrincham and the surrounding area. They are leaving some of their art with the gallery, and also doing several workshops this Saturday (17th August), which will be teaching their crafts and styles.

These workshops will involve the art of paper cutting, calligraphy, painting by burning and fan making. £25 (12-2pm)

There is also a kite making workshops for adults and children where each participant will take away three kites they have made. £20(10-12pm)

The workshops will be held by the artists themselves and will allow participants to experience ancient Chinese cultures and art. They are very keen to have local artists at the workshop as they will be able to gain more than most from it .

There are limited places please book on Facebook via eventbrite or email Jo at jo.smith@altrinchamopenstudios.org

These artists are also keen to have some English artists return the visit to China to demonstrate English skills and styles.
