OVO Energy Tour of Britain 2019 - Business & Community Engagement Events
Greater Manchester will be hosting the final stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain 2019 on September 14th, which will see 20 of the best cycling teams in Europe battle it out to win the prestigious race.
The event will start at Altrincham and the cyclists will travel through Hale before passing through all of the 10 Greater Manchester boroughs.
This is a massive competition in the cycling world and provides an ideal opportunity for us to promote all that is good about Trafford, especially Altrincham and Hale. That’s why we would like to invite community groups and businesses to a series of events to discuss the opportunities that hosting this race brings.
Trafford Council and Altrincham Unlimited, Altrincham Business Improvement District have scheduled two sessions.
The first is at the Cresta Court Hotel, July 16th between 5pm and 7pm. This is for faith and community groups based in Altrincham and Hale to discuss route animation and engagement.
The second session is at Altrincham Town Hall between 5pm and 7pm on July 24. It is focused on businesses in Altrincham and Hale, and we will explore opportunities to get involved in the wider celebration events that are being planned.
At the meetings, we will share the information that has been provided by Tour of Britain and the council’s plan for wrap-around activities taking place in Altrincham based on this information, which will be managed in partnership with Altrincham Unlimited. The council is still in discussions with the event organisers to finalise the event details, so aspects of the information being shared at the above events may be subject to change. We also plan to do a follow up event in August.
