Everything you need to know when visiting Altrincham


Easily accessible, Altrincham town centre is conveniently located just off the A56. The town is signposted from the M56, M60 and M6 motorway networks and boasts some of the lowest parking charges in the North West.

Car parks

Council car parks can be found at Regent Rd (WA14 1RR) and Oakfield Rd (WA15 8EW) and there is also on street parking around the town centre. Prices start from 70p/30 mins (£1.50/2 hours, £2.50/3 hours) and on Sundays parking is free of charge in both council car parks and on the street.

Private car parks are also very reasonably priced. The Stamford Quarter (WA14 1RH) has a large 24-hour multi-storey car park with prices starting from £1/hour (£2/2 hours, £3 3-4 hours). Again Sundays are exceptionally good value at 50p for the full day. (Please note the Stamford Quarter car park currently has reduced capacity due to refurbishment works from mid Feb to end April 2017).

Goose Green Car Park (WA14 2WG) is also centrally located with prices starting from 80p/hour (£1.80/1-3 hours, £2.80 3-4 hours). Opening hours are as follows:

Fri: 06.45-23.30
Sat-Sun & bank holidays: 08.45-23.30

Tesco and Sainsbury’s are both located close to the town centre and have large car parks with free parking. Tesco car park (WA15 9QT) is free for up to 3 hours and Sainsbury’s car park (WA14 2SU) is free for up to 2 hours.
