OVO Energy Tour of Britain

Altrincham is hosting the start of the final stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain on Saturday 14th September.  

     It’s the UK's biggest and most prestigious professional cycle race and the country's largest free-to-spectate sporting event.

     There will be 1.5 million spectators at the roadside across the eight stages of the race.

     20 of the World’s top teams will be racing.

     This is an incredible opportunity for Altrincham, and we would like to encourage everyone to get behind the race.

Community Ride

To celebrate Altrincham and Hale hosting the start of the final stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain 2019, Trafford Council is hosting a community ride.

By joining the ‘Pink Peloton’ you’ll get an opportunity to ride a short piece of the Tour of Britain route. The community ride is a fantastic opportunity for cycling enthusiasts and families to get on your bike and experience some of the atmosphere of the event.

  • The ride will start in Hale @ approx. 11:15 and finish in Altrincham on Cross Street
  • Minimum age for riders is 10, although younger riders are welcome to travel in bike trailers and trailer bikes.
  • All registered riders will need to meet on the road opposite Costa Coffee and the M&S Food Hall in Hale for no later than 10:45.
  • At the meet point you’ll be able to collect your ride T-Shirt!
  • All riders MUST wear a helmet for this event
