Why not walk into Altrincham for the Christmas Lights Switch-on?

14 Nov 2019

This Saturday, 16th November, ‘Quietways’ group walks will set-off at 11.30am from Bowdon Vale and Timperley arriving in time to enjoy Altrincham’s Christmas Lights Switch-on Show.

Where possible the walks have been planned to avoid the busiest roads and allow the group to enjoy the route.  If you’re walking from Timperley you will take-in the peacefulness of King George V Pool and the Bowdon Vale walk will meander down the historic quietness of the Narrows, the ancient walking route which links Bowdon with Altrincham.

Abigail Richardson, from Altrincham’s Business Improvement District (The BID), who has helped to coordinate this project explains, “This will be the second time the BID has run these guided walks, they’re lots of fun, so why not pop on your wellies or walking boots and join one of the groups?”

Timperley to Altrincham – meet at 11:30 by the Frank Sidebottom Statue, WA15 7UG (approximately 40 mins / 2 miles). Roads, pathways and some uneven terrain.

Bowdon Vale to Altrincham – meet at 11:30 outside the Co-op, Vicarage Lane, WA14 3BE (approximately 30 mins / 2 miles). Roads and pathways.

As the nights are drawing in why not catch the bus or take a tram back? More information: https://tfgm.com/
